A study has been undertaken to enlighten the water quality parameters of coastal water of Muthupet estuary and Muthupet east coast was selected as the reference site. The concentration of water quality parameters like temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, total hardness, total alkalinity, electrical conductivity, biological oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were done triplicate in the laboratory as per the standard methods. The reason for chosen the coastal water level due to the continuous discharge of agricultural, domestic sewage and industrial effluent in the estuary.
